Physical Education Leadership 4/5
This advanced course is offered to enable students to achieve a higher degree of leadership competency. The course follows the similar competencies as the compulsory course but is supplemented with more varied challenges. The activities offered vary from school to school but may include First Aid and CPR training, injury prevention, outdoor education, golf, archery, ultimate, lacrosse etc. Students are encouraged to also take on a leadership role within the
school’s athletic program.
The Physical Education Leadership program consists of three interrelated competencies:
1. Performs movement skills in different physical activity settings. Students must
demonstrate an understanding of leadership principles and develop the necessary movement skills within a physical activity setting.
2. Interacts with others in different physicals activity settings. Students will demonstrate an ability to apply leadership principles and develop the related social skills in different physical activity settings and situations.
3. Adopts a healthy active lifestyle. Students should adopt and promote a healthy, active lifestyle.
