SCHOOL UNIFORM

The RHS uniform and the students who wear them represent the school publicly and it is expected that while in uniform those students conduct themselves appropriately, within the school and the community. All students must arrive at the school and depart from the school daily dressed according to the following uniform regulations.

THE UNIFORM IS AS FOLLOWS CLARIFICATIONS
  • The RHS polo shirt (short or long sleeves)
  • The RHS t-shirt
  • This includes all past versions of the RHS uniform shirt sold at Price & Buckland, so long as the RHS crest is present.
  • The RHS polo/t-shirt/hoodie must be worn at all times. 
  • This includes the RHS phys. ed. t-shirt.
  • RHS polo fleece, hooded sweatshirt, sleeveless cardigan, or long-sleeve sweater sold at Price & Buckland
  • The RHS polo shirt or t-shirt must be worn underneath.
  • Plain, clean, black pants/leg-wear
  • PERMITTED: sweat pants, track pants, cargo pants, jeans
    • Must be black, not torn, not faded, no holes
  • NO casual wear (ex: no leggings/jeggings, yoga pants or tight fitting pants, leg warmers).
  • NO logos or colored stitching on pants.
  • Pants are not to be rolled.
  • Cut off hems are not permitted.
  • Girls may wear black pleated skirts as provided by Price & Buckland, or a retailer of choice
  • Skirts must be knee length.
  • Black, knee length dress shorts in August, September and May and June only
  • Must be uniform shorts (knee length).
  • Only RHS Phys Ed shorts may be worn during the warmer months (August/September and May/June)
  • RHS Phys Ed shorts are to be kept knee length as purchased.
  • Black or white socks, nylons or leotards
  • Solid colors only.
  • Torn socks, nylons, leotards or fishnet stockings are NOT permitted.
  • Knee-highs (except those BELOW the knee) or thigh-high stockings are not permitted.
  • Sensible shoes that are practical for a busy crowded public building (preferably black or white). Running shoes are acceptable (not styles above the ankle).
  • All shoes must have closed heels and toes. Crocs, Boots, sandals, flip-flops, slippers, etc… may not be worn in school. Each student must have his/her own pair of running shoes as they are compulsory for Phys.Ed. classes.
  • Mandatory physical education uniform 
  • RHS-crested phys. ed. T-shirt
  • RHS-crested phys. ed shorts or RHS-crested
  • Athletic socks and sensible running shoes

The following are unacceptable at RHS and are NOT permitted in class: 

  • No personal bags (backpacks, purses, fanny packs, satchels, lunch bag/box, etc.) are permitted in the classroom. These items are to be kept in the student’s assigned locker.
  • Scarves, sweatbands, neck bands, wristbands/gloves, hats, bandanas and caps.
  • Excessive makeup and/or piercings.
  • Accessories depicting drugs, violence, racism, alcohol or obscenities
  • Studs and/or rivets on any part of clothing or accessories
  • Wallet chains and long key chains
  • LEGGINGS/TIGHTS AND/OR YOGA PANTS ARE NOT PART OF THE SCHOOL UNIFORM

Students must arrive to school in their uniform. They are not to leave a uniform in their locker to change after arriving or borrow any uniform items from other students. Students must also remain in uniform during lunch and recess times, even outside the school. A student who is NOT IN UNIFORM will receive a school detention and be asked to change. If uniform violations persist, students may be suspended. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE IN UNIFORM AT ALL TIMES.
