Secondary 1 Admissions
- Students beginning in Secondary 1 are not required to have any previous musical knowledge or experience playing a musical instrument.
- Students are taught music literacy and the fundamentals of their chosen instrument from the beginning of their musical career at RHS.
PROGRAM TRANSFERS
To transfer into the RHS Art-Etude program from an external music program at any
level, students must complete a brief interview and audition to evaluate their seriousness, playing skills and proficiency. It is essential that the student possesses knowledge of an instrument offered within the program. Admission into the program is a prerequisite for registration as an Art Études Music student-artist at RHS.
For students already enrolled at RHS choosing an internal transfer into the Music Program, admission to the program will be considered case-by-case, contingent upon maintaining good academic standing, a short interview with the Consultant and Department head, and auditioning for a grade-appropriate ensemble. The student must possess knowledge and skills on an instrument offered within the program.
